Safecast – a global sensor network for collecting and sharing radiation measurements to empower people with data about their environments. Created in 2011 following the Fukushima Daiichi meltdown, Safecast has expanded to look at air quality as well.

Chanpon – a site devoted to the mixture of Japanese culture with other cultures. It was started in 2001, and is still updated on occasion.
